Compactor KTO 300 is derived from the wheel loader KNB 250. It is a self- propelled two-axlw machine with an articulated frame. Both axles are equipped with steel wheels. The rear axle is swinging. There are pins welded on the front wheels and blades welded on the rear wheels. The front wheels are cleaned in both travel directions by means of individually adjustable scrapers. The lower part of the frame is protected by means of steel guards preventing a damage of the machine. The machine drive consists of a water-cooled Diesel engine, a hydrodynamic converter and  power-shift gear box. The torque is transmitted by means two propeller shafts to the axle bevel reduction gear and to the planet gear in wheels. Steering and working parts controls are hydraulic. The working equipment consists of a blade which can be lifted and tilted. The cabin is heated and equipped with additional ventilating arrangement with fitted-in deodoration filter to blow in odourless fresh air. Tje cabin is of the ROPS safety design,  protecting the driver in case of overturning the machine. The compactor is designed for levelling and compacting large scale waste dumps. The working equipment also enables a loading shovel to be fitted on, thus offering the possibility of using the machine as a shovel-loader to load soil in the waste dump.
